Go Hoos!

looking at Piper is more fun than smiling for the camera

straining to lift that heavy head

Poor Piper longs to join in on the fun

Nate's new toy

Nate examines his new toy...

gives it a taste...

decides he doesn't like it...

and pushes it away in disgust.

Perhaps in time he'll warm up to it.

Lots of laughing

This is after several minutes of laughing prior to me recording

This was one of the first outfits I purchased for Nate. I think I got it in December right after I found out I was having a boy. You can't see in the picture but there is a little embroidered sailboat on the jacket and on the onesie.

No, Nate didn't blink for the picture, he is sleeping! Whenever we get ready to go on a walk I sit Nate in the corner of this chair and I sit on the edge and put my sneakers on. Well in the minute it took me to get my sneakers on Nate fell asleep sitting up! I looked up and couldn't believe it--he has never done that. I pulled off my sneakers, plopped him in the crib, and we took the walk a little while later. I guess he was tired!

I took my camera with me on our walk yesterday. I must have seen at least 7 or 8 other people snapping pictures of the trees, too. We saw all the colors of the rainbow...

Check out our neighbor's enormous spider web

Here is Nate's new jumper. You may recall pictures of him in the Sassy...yeah, well, he really never took off in that. His friend has this Graco bouncer and Nate tried it out and told me he must have it. I found it on Craigslist and we got it for a steal. Sadly it doesn't properly fit over our enormous molding. It's okay for now but won't be safe once he gets much bigger. :-(

Today was another gorgeous fall day and Nate and I spent much of it outside. Last year I was pregnant and nauseous for most of September, October, and November, so I kind of missed out on all the fall fun. As I was walking today I made a mental list of what I think are some great things about fall (food seems to be major theme)...
- apple crisp (we've enjoyed three so far), apple pie, apple butter, and sometimes a plain old apple (preferably a Macoun)
- pumpkin bread (just baked second batch today, yum!)
- mallomars back on grocery store shelves (rather expensive at almost six bucks so these are not a weekly purchase)
- burning yankee candles (my favorite this fall has been "pumpkin brulee")
- comfy shoes (I was sad to pack up my flip flops but happy to pull out my wool clogs, ugg boots, and fur-lined slippers)
- flannel sheets and down comforter (unfortunately edward draws the line at my electric blanket)
- hot chocolate with marshmallows (no coffee or tea for me)
- being able to put my pajamas on super early in the evening (some days Edward never even sees me in "real" clothes!)
- my tv show lineup (Glee is my new favorite this year)
- Thankgiving (one of my favorite meals of the year)
- and of course all the beautiful foliage

Did I miss anything? Probably, but those are what I came up with today.

Happy fall! Don't forget we "fall back" this weekend.

Nate and I had a busy week and I only took a few pictures. I will be better about posting next week!

Rain, rain, go away!

Someone's overheating (and unhappy). Nate, Piper, and I ventured out for a walk in the cold (36 degrees!) on Friday to visit Edward. Thanks to the bear bundler Nate stayed snug as a bug in a rug.

Play time!

Nate pauses to check out what Piper is doing.

Piper has been shedding up a storm lately. Her hair is coming out in globs and I can't vacuum enough to keep up with the mess. Friday I decided to take control and pulled her brushes out of retirement. I went to work and here is what came off in no more than five minutes....

I brushed her several times this weekend and the result has been the same. She has a never ending supply of hair! I am determined to keep brushing until this gets better. I am sick of my sweatpants (which I've probably been wearing far too frequently, i really AM a mom--ahh!!), not to mention the carpets and couches, looking like this...

Enough on Piper's hair. More cute baby...

toe to mouth...

view from behind! :-)

Rainy Sunday afternoon--Edward working, Nate watching Baby Mozart, Piper sleeping. I love my family!

Nate enjoying Baby Mozart. I don't let him watch too often, it's a treat.
