Four weeks old

We've taken hundreds of pictures of Nate's first four weeks and it's hard to choose just a few to post because he's so darn cute.

Despite the terrified look, Nate really does enjoy bath time (no tears whatsoever!)

Out for a walk today

A day to celebrate!

Two things to celebrate today...

Piper turns one! Happy birthday, Piper! Edward and I are blessed to have such a wonderful, loving, obedient dog. She's a little sad today because she misses her buddy Scout (they spent the weekend together) but I'll be sure to feed her a special treat for dinner to cheer her up.

Nate had a doctor's appointment and he now weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces! I was pretty bummed after his last appointment on Wednesday because he had lost a few ounces. Nursing hadn't been going well but things turned around the end of last week and he is now back on track. He is only around the tenth percentile for his weight but it's okay considering he was so tiny to begin with. Hopefully he'll keep packing on the ounces! :-)

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at my parents' house. Nate got loads of love and attention and I got rest and did loads of eating. Sarah and Jessie have some great pix on their blogs from the weekend...

I'm not sure how to make those a link so you'll have to copy and paste the addresses. I took some pictures, too, and will get them up at some point.

A visit from Aunt Becky!

Boys CAN wear smocked clothing :-)

This photo shoot didn't go as I had hoped

My Aunt Karen made these wonderful pillows for Nate's nursery. She also made my super cool diaper bag (see baby shower post for a picture). Check out her website at shopdirtsa.com.

The pillow matches the colors in the curtain fabric perfectly!

Nate has his two week (and two days) check up with the pediatrician this afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes!

Confusion!

Dear little Nate has seriously confused his days and nights. He sleeps like a champ all day (it's nearly impossible to keep him awake) and is wide awake all night (or at least until 3am). The last three nights Edward has taken the 12-2am shift, I take over until morning, and then my wonderful mother watches Nate in the morning as Edward leaves for work and I grab a shower, nap, or something to eat. My mom has been here since Monday and is leaving tomorrow morning :-(. She has been cleaning, cooking, caring for Piper, and watching Nate around the clock. This weekend Edward and I will see how we do on our own and Monday I will be all by myself!

Here are a bunch of pix from the last couple days...

Wednesday was gorgeous and we took a 2+ hour walk around New Haven and Yale with Piper and Nate. Piper encountered her first horse and was terrified.

Daddy and Nate. If you recall from his ultrasound pix, Nate has hidden behind his hands from his earliest days.

Nate likes to clasp his hands together.

Unsure about the swing
