Weekend

Yale students returned on Friday so Sunday we took a walk around the campus to see all the students out and about. The weather was beautiful and the campus was abuzz with activity. This is a picture looking into one of the lovely dining halls.

Do you see the resemblance?

I guess Nate and Smee both shop at Carters.

And because he was awake all night..

He needs to sleep all day! He's been sleeping on this pillow for almost two hours as I tiptoe around the apartment (of course keeping him in sight at all times). Had I known he'd sleep so long I certainly would have but him in his crib.

After his long nap we went and visited Edward. I'm glad Edward got out of his dungeon lab to spend a few minutes in the sunshine.

Being silly back at home

Nate loves bold patterns and now he is wearing one himself!

Nate's great grandma skyped with us today. How cool is that?!

It's no longer the whole fist--Nate now sucks on a finger or two at a time.

I used to think Nate looked more like me but I'm beginning to see more of Edward in him. What do you think?

The weather was gorgeous in New Haven today--sunny, 78 degrees, low humidity, and a nice breeze. Nate, Piper, and I walked all over town. I'm pretty tired but hopefully we'll get some good sleep tonight. Yeah right!

Who needs sleep?

We have had some rough nights around here (and by rough I mean very little sleep). Nate was up for the day at 6 this morning. He did take a short nap at 7:30 and here he is waking up around 8, ready to go!

Cookie time

Nate waited patiently in his Bumbo until he could lick the spatula clean.

More studio shots

I picked up the actual photos yesterday so aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, or anyone else who is dying to have a picture of Nate, make sure you get one from me!

Nate's first word!

Nate's been talking a lot these days. We hear a lot of "aboo-boo" and "agoo" but he also said his first word last week. You don't believe me? Fortunately I got it on video!

He gets very frustrated when saying "mmmm....mmm....mum", like he is desperately trying to get more out but just can't. Maybe he'll be verbal at a young age. :-)

Smile!

Nate made the most adorable giggle just a second after this picture was taken. Wish I had it on video!

Last week I headed back to NJ for a few days and packed in a whole lot in my short visit home. I got to see my old buddy Lauren before she left for the Middle East for nine months. My friend Kristin came to visit and I got to hear all about her three week missions trip to South Africa. Nate was visited by Ron, Aunt Mariane, Mary (who leaves for college very soon!), and Hannah. We visited my grandparents (Nate's great grandparents!) and Nate gave them lots of smiles. And we also got to visit my great Auntie Alice who had not yet met Nate. The weather was crummy so we didn't get in any pool time but we did plenty of lounging and talking and eating. I also got to see Jessie who had been away in Europe for a couple weeks.

Kristin worked wonders with Nate. He fell asleep in her arms numerous times.

Nate was a HIT at the nursing home. Auntie Alice covered Nate with kisses.

Jessie and my mom got Nate the "Sassy", a super fun bouncer. He is a little young for it but yesterday Nate had a new little friend come over who is five months old and showed him how it works.

Testing it out in NJ

Lunch at Stoney Creek (Thimble Islands in the background)

Here I am at Stoney Creek 8 days before Nate was born.

All ready for church! (Nate now wears a bib much of the time because he has a constant waterfall of drool coming over his chin. He also likes to put EVERYTHING in his mouth, including bibs)

Here is a series of Nate making goofy faces. I don't know why some pictures are turned the wrong way. Anymore his mouth is wide open as he tries to shove anything and everything in it!
