Clean, happy baby

Playing with Piper

Strawberries

are also a favorite these days.

Nate's favorite food

is pasta, of course!

First time having pasta. He couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough.

Leftovers the next night--just as delicious!
(and this time I pulled out a bib with some serious coverage)

Hysterical laughter

Where we've been

I had been so good about posting regularly and then illness struck (both me and Nate). Here's what went down the last couple weeks...Early morning (6:30am) play time at the farm two Thursdays before Easter. It had been a rough week and rough night in particular thanks to some very noisy neighbors. I was fed up with New Haven and Edward kindly suggested that I had home to NJ for a few days. Nate and I packed up and were out the door a few hours later that day.

We had a fun Thurdsay afternoon, Friday, and Saturday with family and friends.

We were planning on heading back to CT Sunday afternoon when Nate got sick. Here he is burning up with a fever of 103.3. There was no way I wanted to drive back with him so sick so we decided to stay until Monday.

This was after church before we realized he was sick. How pitiful he looks--how did I not realize sooner?!

Monday Nate still had a high fever and it was pouring rain all day so we left on Tuesday (still raining). He was doing much better but I started to feel not quite right. Wednesday I started to get sick and Thursday I was burning up with a fever. I managed to take care of Nate on Thursday despite feeling feverish and achy, accompanied with a drippy noise, coughs, and sneezes. Yuk. Friday morning I demanded Edward stay home for work and help me. I just couldn't deal with Nate is my sickly condition. He had to go to a morning meeting but then returned home. Instead of hanging around CT we hopped in the car and drove to NJ so my family could help out (this was Good Friday).

Nate on Saturday enjoying a thin mint.

The McInnes family (sans Andy who was working) were already there when we arrived on Friday. They spent the weekend, too, and the cousins had some fun times together. Edward and Maddie also had some quality bonding time.

Edward and my family watched Nate 99% of the weekend. I felt awful through Sunday and spent most of the weekend holed up in an upstairs bedroom. I emerged occasionally to get food and check on Nate, but did little else. I was really bummed to miss out on family time and the beautiful weather but was so grateful for all the help.

I stole the above two pix from Sarah's blog. She and my dad took Nate and Maddie to a local farm on Saturday. Check out her blog for a entire post about the trip (plus more Easter pix).

I went to church but ended up spending most of the service in the crying room with Nate (who wasn't crying, just too loud and fidgety for church).

(Nate needed lunch and was a bit unhappy)

PopPop, MorMor, and the kiddies

Nate's first experience in grass and he hated it! See him trying to get his feet up off the ground.

We moved an egg to the sidewalk since the grass was too much for him to handle.

Back to New Haven on Sunday night. My health was improving by Sunday evening and I felt much better by Monday.

Cherry blossoms at Wooster Square. They rival those in D.C. (sort of).

Toddlers and Tunes on Wednesday. Nate and went a few times this winter when it was held inside. This was the first one held outside and there were masses of babies and moms. The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed listening and singing and people watching.

First time using sunscreen. I guess he's allergic to Water Babies.

New sandals. Cute and cheap but will not stay on his feet. Time for another pair.

These lovely tulips arrived on my doorstep on Wednesday, from Edward of course. How thoughtful!
