A look back at February

SO glad we are not dealing with this anymore. We had massive amounts of snow this winter (as you probably did, too) and had major cabin fever. On this particular day we were about to head out when we realized the road was blocked by this bulldozer clearing snow. He pushed piles of snow to the end of the street and then dumped it into an awaiting dump truck. I think it took almost an hour before we could get out. (We live on a one way street and couldn't turn right out of driveway--well I suppose if we HAD to get out we could have but we were probably heading to Target or Ikea or some place like that.)

Look at that red face! Nate had a non-stop runny nose for weeks and wiped his sleeve across his face approximately every ten seconds. He continued doing this even after his nose stopped running. He just wiped without thinking and we had to constantly remind him to stop.

Twice when I visited my parents I saw this falcon on their deck. There were other sightings as well. Kinda cool, kinda scary--can't such birds swoop down and carry off small Nate-sized children?

One of Nate's favorite spots at my parents' house. He loves playing with water and this is one sink he can actually reach (with the help of the stool).

Uncle Tim kindly offered Nate this cotton candy and he refused! We used this cotton candy machine when I was a kid--so glad my mom saved it!

Finally a hair cut!

Why sit to pee when you can stand?

Valentine's day
(Don't you love the saddle shoes? He squeezed into them for Easter but I think that'll be the last time.)

figuring out his first Pez dispenser

A day in Haddonfield with Mormor and the McInnes girls

It was a warm day (warm for February anyway) and the kids were thrilled to run around at the park.

Aunt Sarah blowing bubbles. Avvie slept through the fun.

In these next few pictures Nate was trying to skype but whoever we were trying to skype was not signed on. Every time he tried to make the call it made a "ca ching" noise which he thought was hilarious. He did this no less than twenty times and it was just as hilarious the last time as it was the first. This should give you some indication of how bored we were this winter.

A common scene in our house--Nate on the couch with doggie and blankie

I was trying to get creative and set up this little tub with water to play in. Glad I had a towel underneath because water was everywhere by the time he was finished.

A look back at January

I think I blogged through most of January, but here are a couple more pictures from the end of the month.

The next few are from a trip to Florida to visit Edward's family

Aunt Karen made this "I spy" quilt for Nate. You can see he loves it!

He's two!

Our little Nate turned two years old on Tuesday. We had a couple little mini celebrations, first at my parents' house after our big Disney trip (pictures to come) and the second on Tuesday with just the three of us.

(I wish I had grabbed the milk-filled beer cup out of his hand for these pictures!)

Birthday buddies--my grandma and Nate were both born May 3

four generations

Opening lots of fun toys. What a change from Christmas when he had little interest in opening gifts. This time he loved tearing through the paper to see what was inside.

The weather was beautiful on Tuesday so we spent the morning outside at the park. In the evening we went out to dinner and then returned home for cupcakes and more presents.

birthday balloon wreath--i saw this idea online. cute, right? very easy to make (straw wreath, balloons, greening pins)

waving to our waiter

So is there anyone out there actually reading this? Mom? Jim? Anyone? Hopefully a couple of you! Sorry for the three month gap between posts. I'll do a brief recap of the last few months and then show you all the projects that have been keeping me away from the blog.
