weekend and whatnot

Various members of my family and Edward's family met up at my parents' house over the weekend to attend the Rutgers/WVU football game on Saturday. My dad has great VIP seats and the men enjoyed the game, despite the icky weather.

My parents just completed a major renovation on the entire downstairs and little of the upstairs. The house looks amazing!!!

countertops not in for the weekend, but were put in on monday

while the men were at the game, we enjoyed staying warm and cozy in the house

Jessie took some great pix of nate on sunday

crazy dreadlocks!

grandfather and grandson--so cute!

monday--picking out our christmas tree at home depot, not exacting the griswold experience

tuesday evening--decorating our lovely tree

Nate's second tooth popped through a few days ago. It's not the other central incisor, but a lateral incisor, so he has both right incisors at this point. Hopefully the teeth on the left will make an appearance soon. Nate heads back to the doctor tomorrow for another round of flu shots. He's been doing well with solids, although not with sleep. He slept through the night ONCE and never again. Back to getting up twice a night--ugh. He has mastered rolling and rolls all around the family room. He just woke up from his nap so I must go tend to him! More updates later!

Christmas Tree Lighting

Nate turned 7 months old yesterday and I was going to blog about him in the evening but instead we headed out to the New Haven tree lighting ceremony on the green. Unfortunately we were a little late and missed the actual lighting of the tree. It's quite a spectacular tree, no Rockefeller Center, but still pretty impressive. There were a ton of people milling around and some fun stuff for kids.

Nate spots the tree

The tree doesn't look so hot but look at those great smiles!

Polar bear ride, anyone?

Or maybe a reindeer ride?
There was also a tiger and Rudolph going in circles. I took a video but forgot to upload it. I will another time. It's short and worth watching.

Happy 30th Birthday, Sarah!

This year will be extra special for Sarah because she'll be having another baby!
In this picture Sarah is holding Nate. She left Maddie with Andy and drove all the way to CT by herself to meet Nate the day he was born. What a wonderful sister and aunt!

Thanksgiving weekend

We had a lovely Thanksgiving day at my Aunt Karen and Uncle Franco's house.

Becky and Nate (making a funny face as he plays with his new tooth)

Matching bibs
I love how Maddie is dressed in all pink and Nate in all blue.

Time for comfy clothes and fun with Aunt Jessie!

Sarah practices watching two kids at once in preparation for arrival of Baby McInnes #2 (in only three months!)

My parents surprised Nate with some new clothes, including this cute button down shirt, and Jessie surprised him with a pair of Robeez (leather shoes). The shoes are navy blue with fire trucks--so cute! I'll have to get a better picture of them to post.

Sarah, Maddie, my mom, Nate, and I headed to a local flower farm to take advantage of their free holiday photo spot. If you recall, last year Piper and Scout's photo won in the dog category.

Nate starts to fall apart
and the photo session comes to a tearful end.
One last picture with Mom!
Nate was fast asleep in Sarah's arms before we even left the store. Being such a cute baby sure is exhausting!

Nate fell asleep about two seconds after this picture was taken. Such a tiring day!

Later that day my good friend Joanna visited (Nate is on outfit three for the day)

We've been friends for over 20 years--how time flies!

And then a visit to Grandma and Grandpa

We did some other stuff too but it's almost 9:30pm and I'm pooped so that's all for now. Goodnight!
